(Figure 1) 3 - 4 metres from the throwing line (Figure 2). Players score in turn.
  2. At the start of the first game, a toss-up is drawn. In the following games, the player with the lowest previous score starts, etc.
  3. The first player throws an underhand throw towards Mölkky's throwing stick in an attempt to hit and knock it down. If hit, the points are counted, scored, and the game passes to the next player. Only the underhand is thrown.
  4. A crane is not considered to have fallen if it is leaning on another crane or Mölkky stick. Fallen cranes are placed upright in exactly the same position.
  5. Scoring: if a ball drops, the result is the number on the ball. If more than one crane falls, the result is the number of cranes fallen.
  6. End of the game: the first player to get exactly 50 points finishes the game and wins. The other players score the points they have at that moment. If the score goes over 50, the player drops back to 25 points and continues the game.
  7. If a player fails to hit the cranes on three consecutive rolls, he is out of the game and will assist the runners-up in scoring.
